Darko Tipurić is Full Professor and MBA Programme Director at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where he has also served as Dean and as Head of the Department of Organization and Management. He is President of the Croatian Economic Association and President of the Croatian Corporate Governance and Management Society, and a member of numerous academic and professional associations across Europe.
Over the course of his career, he has (co)authored several hundred scholarly articles and more than twenty books in the fields of corporate governance, strategy and leadership. Among his most influential works in English are The Enactment of Strategic Leadership: A Critical Perspective (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), a critical reassessment of one of the most widely used concepts in management research and practice, and Two-Tier Boards: Exploring the Dynamics of Supervisory and Management Boards in Corporate Governance (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025). His earlier book The Illusion of Strategy: Unveiling the Socially Constructed Reality of the Firm (Sinergija, 2014), widely read across South-East Europe, laid the conceptual foundations for much of his subsequent international work.
