PM WORKSHOP No. 1

Is product management only meant for product-oriented companies?

We will break the myth that product management techniques are only applicable to product-oriented companies. Through an interesting example, we will show how to use product and service design methods, facilitator tools for working with large groups, and agile techniques for quick production and validation of ideas. The workshop will show how we can quickly (but really quickly) come up with something that seemed like a napkin idea, develop several prototypes and validate the chosen solution before investing big money.

PM WORKSHOP No. 2

Managing remote and hybrid teams to ensure project delivery

It may not be as hard as you think!

In a proactive workshop, together we will explore what kind of infrastructure, project steps, and culture your organization should possess in order to effectively manage remote and hybrid teams included in project delivery.

Our joint input, experience and perspectives during the workshop will enable us to define together how to challenge your team members to stay focused and on-board while working in a remote or hybrid environment.

Projects to Platforms: Creating Digital Business Models That Drive Value

More and more, digital transformation involves the development of digital platforms that ensure ROI and user adoption. Modern project managers work with an ever-growing set of tools to address digital transformation and as project management capabilities evolve, we must consider ourselves as platform creators – designers of digital business models that facilitate and drive value exchange between producers and consumers.

Tim Jaques will engage the audience with real world approaches and examples in platform building. His practitioner view highlights the tradeoffs and risks of an investment into technology stacks, audience engagement, and business model executio

Keynote speaker

Grahame Godding BSc, FAPM

A retired Project & Programme Manager of 39 years standing.

Fortunate enough to have been directly involved delivering some iconic major transportation infrastructure projects.

I became a Member of The Association for Project Management (APM) in October 1986. Shortly after being appointed to my first Project Manager role with London Underground Ltd.

In 1994 after a seven year spell on The Channel Tunnel Project I returned to London Underground and with good fortune worked alongside what I like to call my ‘Yellow Jersey Team’. Delivering portfolios of projects across the Underground Network.

Over the span of my career my influencers encouraged me into process development and business change. This included periods developing Railway Safety Cases and even some legal work.

2007 was a life changer for me.

– On the plus side on 31st October 2007 at the APM Conference in London; as APM Sponsor; I launched the APM Knowledge guide ‘Models to Improve the Management of Projects’ (M2iMP). A comparative assessment of the (then) six most popular project Capability, Maturity and Excellence Models.

– On the downside my life changed forever. As a result of intense and sustained stress I fell seriously ill and was diagnosed BiPolar.

This debilitating mental condition hampered my subsequent career development. That is until in now. June 2022

There is one intervention by a hospital orderly in 2007 that saved me. I was shown a ‘Stress versus Vulnerability’ Model. Drawing on my experience of Models and Project Management I worked tirelessly to overcome my illness and develop a new phase of my life.

– I am not a Psychiatrist – Fact.

– I am a Project Manager (my peers will decide)

My GOAL at this conference:

Share with the wider Project Delivery Community the ‘Stress versus Vulnerability’ Model. Explain what it does, how it can work for you too and the benefits of well-being that may be derived from it.

Grahame Godding – July 2022

I also bake a good Strawberry & Fresh Cream cake!
